Leslie Balcazar began her professional career at A World Fit for Kids! As a Substitute Coach in 2013, living her dream of being part of an after-school program. Being born and raised in South Central Los Angeles, she didn’t have the opportunity to take part in an after-school Program because of the gang violence in the neighborhood where she grew up.

The job started as a way to connect with the community at a deeper level and heal her inner child. The job became personal as she saw herself in the youths’ stories.

Now an industry vet, Leslie has a decade of experience working with A World Fit for Kids! She is a motivated mentor, who is passionate about helping the youth in the communities that we serve by inspiring them and showing them that anything is possible no matter your walk of life.

Today, Leslie has worked alongside thousands of students to advocate the importance of health and wellness. Leslie was privileged to travel to Bahrain in July 2018 through a foreign exchange program, Teach Nourishing Matters and Move360. Leslie also certified Norwood Street Elementary School as a Healthy Behavior School Site.

During Covid in 2020, Leslie also created a Virtual Fitness Program called VFITNESS for Middle and High School Students that incorporated self-awareness and SEL. In her free time, Leslie can be found serving her community, working out, designing cosplays, and rescuing strays.
